100% Peruvian Ceremonial Cacao. Preparing the cacao: 1. Begin by setting your intention for your Cacao ceremony. 2. In a pot add 150-200 ml of water or milk and cinnamon stick or powder. Heat it to just before it reaches the boiling point. 3. Add 15-30g chopped or grated cacao, spices, and edible roses (optional). Among other recommended spices to use are cardamon, ginger and cayenne pepper. 4. Add a natural sweetener like coconut sugar, maple/agave syrup or honey. 5. Utilize a whisk to stir the mixture until all the cacao has completely melted. Do not bring to a boil. 6. Serve while hot and savor the experience! Ceremonial cacao is best consumed before meditation. In order to receive the full effects, try to incorporate some movement after drinking the cacao, so that it merges fully with the body. It is normal to experience a slightly stronger heartbeat, sweating, or an emotional reaction.
